Gronkowski is Right on This Issue

, ,

Men should compete with men and women with women, regardless of how they identify.

Rob Gronkowski is widely known as “Gronk,” a tight end who teamed up with QB Tom Brady for the New England Patriots and, later, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Together, they won a total of ten NFL championships.

Gronk is a man with a good head on his shoulders. In 2023, he told FOX News that “it’s really unfair if a man went into a women’s sport and played it. It just doesn’t really make much sense to me. Men should compete against men, and women should compete against women.”

That makes sense to me. For example, the Tesla Model S Plaid can reach 200 mph, and a Chevrolet Suburban can reach 113 mph. If we pit them in a race, which auto would win is clear.

So, going back to Gronk’s argument, the male body is more substantial, regardless of whether the person identifies as a female. That means men should compete in men’s sports regardless of their identity, and women should stay in women’s sports irrespective of their identity. Just like different cars, male and female bodies are built differently.

Gronk has it right.
