Thanksgiving Weekend Women’s Hoops Clash Between #3 Irish and #17 TCU Worth Watching

The undefeated teams face off this Friday in the Cayman Islands Classic, 5 PM Eastern on FloSportsTV.

With the talent flowing through each roster, basketball fans will be treated to a likely preview of the 2024 Sweet Sixteen or better. The Irish feature senior guard Olivia Miles (18.3 pts. avg 8.0 reb., 6.8 ast., 55.1 FG%), sophomore guard Hannah Hidalgo (25.0 pts., 6.3 ribs. 50.7 FG%), and senior guard Sonia Citron (10.3 pts., avg., 7.7 reb., 3.7 ast.).

The trio have led the 5-0 Irish to a dominant win over #3 Southern Cal (USC) 74-61, with Hidalgo getting 24 points.

The 6-0 Horned Frogs counter with experience at key positions, beginning with Oregon transfer and senior center Sedona Prince (6’7”, 21.0 pts. avg., 10.2 reb. avg. 64.3 FG% ), senior guard Hailey Van Lith (17.6 pts avg. 7.6 ast., 5.8 rebs) senior guard Madison Conner (15.6 pts., 5.2 ast., 4.0 rebs).

TCU has emerged as a BIG 12 title contender, riding a six-game winning streak and averaging 86 points per game. The best win thus far was a mid-November win over then-#13 NC State 76-73. Prince had a monster game, 31 points, and 16 rebounds. Van Lith also registered a double-double with 18 points and ten assists. Junior guard Taylor Bigby (9.4 pts., 3.2 rebs., 1.6 ast.) sealed the win with a driver to the basket with under ten seconds.

It will be an island classic from George Town, Cayman Islands, as two national contenders take the court.
