Coco Gauff won the 2024 China Open Tennis tournament (her second title in Beijing) by beating Karolina Muchova in the Finals, 6-1, 6-3 victory.

At age 20, Gauff became the youngest China Open champion in 14 years and the second American champion in Beijing. She follows Serena Williams’s titles in 2004 and 2013. Gauff is the sixth-ranked pro tennis player in the United States.

Gauff’s eighth career title improved her record in tour finals to 8-1 and in hard-court finals to 7-0. That’s a feat never achieved before in the open era. Gauff’s win in Beijing improved her chances of qualifying for the WTA Finals, featuring the eight top players in the third year.

Congrats to Coco Gauff! May she win many more titles!
