The Russian team initially won gold but was stripped of medals because of doping. The U.S. skaters were the rightful winners.
In Paris, the American team, including Alexa Knierim, Nathan Chen, and Evan Bates, stood under the Eiffel Tower, the proud moment theirs. 2022 Olympic medals were awarded to nine athletes from Jae Youl Kim, IOC Member and President of the International Skating Federation (ISU), and Martin Fourcade.
The team was surrounded and cheered by 13,000 fans who attended the awards ceremony. The Japanese team won silver medals.
I’m happy the USA figure skating team from Beijing finally got their gold after a few years.
