Fuoco’s Ferrari will be in the front row.

SPA-FRANCHORCHAMPS, Belgium- After being disappointing in the last two races, Antonio Fuoco retained his composure Friday afternoon with a hyperpole victory at this famous Belgian circuit by posting the quickest time of 2:02:600 to put his Ferrari on the front row for Saturday’s Six Hours of Spa.

The Italian will be joined by Matt Campbell and his Penske Porsche crew, who have made a name for themselves so far this season. Finishing in third was another surprise with the American Cadillac team with Alex Lynn at the wheel, with Fourth going to the Proton Porsche of Julian Andlauer, who had the best result so far this season in hyperpole.

Taking fifth was the Hertz JOTA Porsche of Callum Ilott, just finishing ahead of the sixth place of Kevin Estre in the second Penske Porsche Motorsport entry. Following their win at the last race in Italy, Toyota Gazoo Racing did not fare well at this circuit, with Brendon Hartley, not their number seven teammate who took the glory last round, taking seventh. Alpine, who launched their concept car this weekend, must have been a confidence booster as Charles Milesi drove the French car to eighth place with the AF Corse Ferrari, led by Robert Kubica and Robin Frijns, ended up in ninth. The BMW WRT Team rounded up the top ten on their home circuit.

Another home circuit driver, Sarah Bovy, gave her Iron Dames Lamborghini team their first pole in the LMGT3 division, with a top time of 2:20:755 just ahead of a stunning performance by Josh Caygill and his United Autosports McLaren. This was the WRT BMW entry of Ahmad Al Harthy, who, along with former MOTO GP champion Valentino Rossi, took second at the last race and will start third. Yasser Shahin and his Manthey EMA Porsche will start in fourth, with the second United Autosports McLaren of James Cottingham in fifth. The Heart of Racing American squad took sixth with Ian James, while seventh went to the Vista AF Corse Ferrari.

The TF Sport Aston Martin finished eighth, with the Akkodis ASP Team in ninth. Aliaksandr Malykhin rounded up the top ten but spun his Manthey Purerxcing Porsche into a Radillion and damaged the rear wing. He was unhurt and delayed the LGMT3 session for a few minutes.

The feature race will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the local hour.
