The twins captured America’s attention before, during, and after college basketball.
During the COVID–19 pandemic, the twins posted videos of themselves playing basketball and other things on TikTok and Instagram to pass the time. However, they never expected it to grow like it did. They now have five million followers on these platforms. It has now become part of Haley and Hanna’s routine. Then, during the 2023 season, the Cavinder twins led the Miami Hurricanes to the women’s NCAA Elite Eight.
Basketball has always been their dream, but they have now become social media celebrities. They became so popular that Sports Illustrated reported that the Cavinder twins were among the first student-athletes to sign major endorsement deals through NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness).
As Haley and Hanna’s college basketball careers were coming to a close, they almost decided to work with the WWE. However, Haley decided to pursue her final year of playing eligibility at Texas Christian University, and Hanna moved with her to Fort Worth to cheer her on.
The twins want to be role models for other female athletes. Hanna told GQ that their bond as twins “is stronger than being basketball players or being athletes. We have to do life together.” Together, they have a clothing company called Baseline Team.
