The Bison Project transports listeners back to the 1971 season at Howard University when the Bison won the NCAA national championship–a championship later vacated by the Association.

The podcast series is a testament to the power of history, culture, and passion associated with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Executive produced by Wright Creative Productions, Meadowlark Media, and Campside Media, the project is part of the anthology documentary series, Sports Explains the World.

Wright is a renowned journalist, producer, and documentarian, and Sam Dingman narrates the series. The October 4 debut will be broadcast on Wondery+ and will continue on various platforms on November 15, 22, and 29.

Wright, who matriculated at Howard University’s School of Communications, spent 15 years of his career at ESPN, and his efforts included work at ESPN The Magazine and The Undefeated. He is probably best known for the 30 for 30 film Redemption Song.
