2023 has been a sad year for Baltimore Ravens alumni.
Another name was added to our Baltimore Ravens Memorial Wall over the weekend with the loss of the team’s first-ever linebackers coach, Maxie Baughan, who died of natural causes at the age of 85. Baughan becomes the 38th addition to the Ravens Memorial Wall, the fourth in 2023.
Baughan, a Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Famer, was also the Baltimore Colts’ defensive coordinator from 1975-79; the team won three straight AFC East Division titles when he was there. In his time in Charm City between the Colts and Ravens, Baughan coached dominating linebackers such as Ed Simonini, Sanders Shiver, Stan White, Ray Lewis, Peter Boulware, and Jamie Sharper.
