But can the Atlanta Dream compete with the best teams in the league and win a WNBA championship?
While only 8-8 (as of July 6), Atlanta is on a three-game winning streak, rising in the standings. And to watch Gray (18.4 pts., 3.1 ast., 5.0 rebs.) and Howard (18.0 pts., 3.5 ast., 4.6 rebs.) execute late in games, it’s obvious that the Dream is not content with just making the playoffs.
But there’s reality. League-leading Las Vegas (16-1) seems to have a lock on the regular season, but finishing high in the standings and getting home-court advantage in the playoffs is not.
Next up for the Dream is the new-look Chicago Sky at Chicago’s Wintrust Arena tonight and Sunday (tip is 8p on both nights), with games airing on the ION Network.
