NFL Four Round Mock Draft 2.0

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Jamies Winston (QB Florida State)

It looks more likely that Winston will end up being the first pick in the draft. He has the on field leadership skills and talent to be a franchise quarterback. Hopes are Lovie Smith can keep him focused off the field and out of trouble.

2. Tennessee Titans- Leonard Williams (DL USC)

The Titans are continuing to rebuild their defensive front, based on attacking the quarterback. Williams can line up at any of the three down positions along their 3-4 front. He has the strength and athleticism to be an J.J. Watt type threat against the run and pass in the NFL.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars- Vic Beasley (DE Clemson)

Gus Bradley’s defense is based on pressure from the front seven, freeing up the defensive backs. Beasley proved to be one of the best athletes in the entire draft at the combine, especially at his size. Getting a legit edge threat will help everyone else on their defense.

4. Oakland Raiders- Kevin White (WR WVU)

The Oakland Raiders need to find better targets for Derek Carr going into his sophomore season. White is an explosive athlete that can stretch the field, while being a big target across the middle and in the red zone. He has the raw ability and upside of Julio Jones.

5. Washington Redskins- Trae Waynes (CB Michigan State)

Waynes established himself as the top corner in the draft after the combine. He has great size for the position and is physical in tackling. Even with the signing of Chris Culliver, the Washington Redskins not only fill their top need with this pick, but get the best player at his position.

6. New York Jets- Marcus Mariota (QB Oregon)

Though many teams are set to move up for Mariota, if he is available the Jets will take him. He is a smart player and good locker room presence. With their defense and re-commitment to the running game, he could excel in NFL and New York.

7. Chicago Bears- Shane Ray (DE Missouri)

John Fox has always focused his defense on attacking the quarterback. Though he lacks the ideal measurables, Ray is the most established pass rusher in the draft. He could be utilized similar to Von Miller in Denver under Fox.

8. Atlanta Falcons- Dante Fowler Jr. (DE/OLB Florida)

The Atlanta Falcons are another team that desperately needs pass rush help. Fowler has elite edge speed that can blow past offensive tackles. He fits Dan Quinn’s mold of speed rushers on the outside.

9. New York Giants- Brandon Scherff (OL Iowa)

The top priority for the New York Giants should be to protect Eli Manning and keep him upright. With the good core of pass catchers on the offense, giving him time will re-establish them as top offense in the league. Scherff is the best offensive lineman in the draft and has the versatility to fill in several different starting spots.

10. St. Louis Rams- Amari Cooper (WR Alabama)

With the acquistion of Nick Foles, the St. Louis Rams need to find a go-to target. Cooper is a great route runner and knows how to get open. Though he does not wow anyone with his size or speed, he could become a Reggie Wayne type No. 1 wide out.

11. Minnesota Vikings- Danny Shelton (DT Washington)

The Minnesota Vikings are still building the Mike Zimmer defense, which focus comes along the defensive line. Shelton is the best tackle in the draft and can eat up blockers to clear space for the linebackers. Pairing him with Shariff Floyd gives them a formidable duo in the middle of the defense.

12. Cleveland Browns- Devante Parker (WR Louisville)

With the off field issues for Josh Gordon, the Cleveland Browns have a major hole at wide receiver. Parker is the most polished wide out in the draft and has good skill set to be a go to target. His combination of size and hands make him ideal in the red zone as well.

13. New Orleans Saints- Randy Gregory (OLB Nebraska)

With the overhaul to the entire roster, the Saints need to infuse the team with young athletes. Gregory is still raw but a phenomenal athlete with a high ceiling. Even with his off-field issues, he is a premiere talent in the NFL draft that can grow under Rob Ryan.

14. Miami Dolphins- Jalen Strong (WR Arizona State)

After trading Mike Wallace, the Dolphins are back to square one in finding a go-to playmaker for Ryan Tannehill. Strong brings a big presence that can go over the middle and make tough catches. He is a good compliment to Kenny Stills as an underneath route option.
15. San Francisco 49ers- Arik Armstead (DL Oregon)

The San Francisco 49ers suddenly need to replace many high level veterans on their roster. With the retirement of Justin Smith, they lack depth and playmakers along the defensive line. Armstead is a good athlete that is an ideal end in their 3-4 front.

16. Houston Texans- Kevin Johnson (CB Wake Forest)

Though they were able to retain Kareem Jackson, they still need help in the defensive backfield. Johnson is a technically sound corner that can also play against the run. With their front seven, this could be a dominant defense with a shut down player on the back end.

17. San Diego Chargers- La’el Collins (OL LSU)

The San Diego Chargers have holes along the inside of their offensive line. Collins could step in as a guard right away and be a dominant run blocker. He also has the potential to develop into a NFL left tackle if needed in the future.

18. Kansas City Chiefs- Dorial Green-Beckham (WR Oklahoma)

Even with the addition of Jeremy Maclin, the Kansas City Chiefs still need help on the outside at wide reciever. Green-Beckham could be the best wide out in the entire draft with his raw skills, but will need to develop his technique. Andy Reid has not shied away from off field concerns in the past and should not pass up on an elite level talent.

19. Cleveland Browns- Andrus Peat (OT Stanford)

The Cleveland Browns have several holes to fix, especially on the offensive line. Peat can step in right away as the starter at right tackle. He also could serve as the contingency plan on the blind side for the aging Joe Thomas.

20. Philadelphia Eagles- Landon Collins (S Alabama)

The Philadelphia Eagles have been retooling the defensive backfield all off season but still lack a strong safety. Collins is a good tackler that could strike fear in opposing pass catchers. He can also play in the box against the run as an ideal complement to Malcolm Jenkins.

21. Cincinnati Bengals- Malcolm Brown (DT Texas)

After the injuries to Geno Atkins the past couple seasons, the Bengals defense suffered. Brown is a good fit as a penetrating tackle that can clear up space behind him. The tandem with Atkins could be a dominant force in the NFL in their 4-3 front.

22. Pittsburgh Steelers- Jalen Collins (CB LSU)

The Pittsburgh Steelers have needed corner help for the past couple seasons, even more evident by Ike Taylor’s age and injury issues. Collins is a big corner that can match up man-to-man with bigger wide outs. Rebuilding their defensive backfield will alleviate pressure on the front seven.

23. Detroit Lions- Cameron Erving (OL Florida State)

The Detroit Lions need help along the interior of their offensive line. Erving has the versatility to play all five offensive line positions at a high level in the NFL. He could be an immediate replacement for departed Dominic Raiola at center.

24. Arizona Cardinals- Todd Gurley (RB Georgia)

Even coming off a serious knee injury, Gurley has the greatest upside of any running back in the draft. He is a physical down high runner, that can eat up yardage and open things up on the outside for the wide receivers. He is a perfect complement to the speedy Andre Ellington in the backfield.

25. Carolina Panthers- Erek Flowers (OT Miami)

The Carolina Panthers have to find a way to protect Cam Newton better. Flowers is a tremendous athlete for his size with huge upside. He has the highest potential of any offensive tackle as one of the younger players in the entire draft.

26. Baltimore Ravens- Devin Funchess (WR/TE Michigan)

With the loss of Torrey Smith and Owen Daniels, the need to find pass catchers for Joe Flacco. Funchess is a big target with experience at both tight end and wide receiver. He is physical and gives the Baltimore Ravens are target across the middle and in the red zone.

27. Dallas Cowboys- Melvin Gordon (RB Wisconsin)

DeMarco Murray will be sorely missed in Dallas after leading the league in rushing last season. Melvin Gordon is a dynamic running back that can make explosive plays as a runner or pass catcher. He is the one cut runner that fits well behind the Dallas Cowboys excellent offensive line.

28. Denver Broncos- Denzel Perryman (LB Miami)

Not only do the Denver Broncos lack depth in their linebacker core, but have to deal with injury issues as well. Perryman is a true 4-3 middle linebacker that could be an anchor in the middle of the defense. He is a sideline to sideline backer that is reminiscent of the greats to coming into the NFL out of Miami.

29. Indianapolis Colts- T.J. Clemmings (OT Pittsburgh)

With the veteran additions this off season, the Indianapolis Colts are one of the favorites to reach the Super Bowl. There biggest issue is keeping Andrew Luck upright and healthy. Clemmings has a huge upside that could develop into a dominant right tackle in the future.

30. Green Bay Packers- Eddie Goldman (DT Florida State)

The Green Bay Packers have a need for depth across the entire defensive line, especially with the uncertainty of B.J. Raji’s health. Goldman finally lived up to his potential last season after being one of the top recruits in the country. He can fill in on any position along their 3-4 defensive front.

31. New Orleans Saints- Maxx Williams (TE Minnesota)

After trading away Jimmy Graham, the New Orleans Saints lacks a go-to target for Drew Brees. Williams has good hands and is strong to catch passes over the middle. Their offense is focused around the tight end and find the best one available in the NFL Draft.

32. New England Patriots- Marcus Peters (CB Washington)

The Darrelle Revis departure leaves a glaring hole at cornerback. Peters has the talent to become a shut-down corner, with good ball skills and is a strong tackler. Bill Belicheck has been able to hone in attitude issues before and gets one of the most talented players in the draft.
