On Sunday, Tommy Fury beat YouTuber Jake Paul in an epic match that went the distance.
As I predicted, the win was by split decision, and the outcome brought Paul to a 6-1 in his career, while Fury remains undefeated at 9-0. This fight, dubbed “The Truth,” meant much to Fury; pressure was on him to win.
Paul, on the other hand, is at a crossroads. He had an undefeated record going into the bout with Fury, but choosing someone from the most prominent boxing family in the world most likely wasn’t the smartest move.
All in all, though, it was still a good fight.
What’s next for Paul and Fury? There is a rematch clause in Paul’s contract so that the future may bring Paul vs. Fury II. But what won’t work is to delay the next confrontation–like the first fight, which was on, then off, for about two years.
