A pro-baseball-could-have-been became a music star.
Singer and rapper Clever is well known as being rap’s go-to hook singer. With hits like Loyalty, It’s All Bad, and King of Nowhere, Clever has done studio gigs with the likes of Juice Wrld, Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Polo G, and NLE Choppa. He also has industry heavyweights, like Migos and 21 Savage, vying to record with him.
But before he was Clever, Clever was known as Joshua Tyler Huie, an aspiring athlete. During high school, Huie played sports at Anna Sansom High School in Gadsden, Alabama. Huie told interviewers that he intended to pursue baseball professionally, but decided to pursue music instead.
Huie turned out to be ‘clever’ in rap.
