Another legend has had his life claimed by COVID-19. It’s John Prine, who was dubbed songwriting’s Mark Twain. Prine won multiple Grammy awards and was honored by the Grammy’s this year with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Prine was a hero to many people, including me.
Prine’s connection to sports came by way of baseball’s Tim Flannery. Flannery played in ‘The Bigs’ for a decade with the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants, earning three World Series championships with the Giants in 2010, 2012, and 2014. In 1999, Flannery designed the cover of Prime’s album Paradise.
