The ‘fight’ received attention because two superstars were involved.
It was February 10, 1993. The Chicago Bulls were playing a road game against the Indiana Pacers. The Bulls’ lineup included Micheal Jordan, a basketball player and sometimes actor (Space Jam). The Pacers’ lineup included Reggie Miller, an equally talented basketball player, who didn’t act.
On this night, things started when Miller bumped Jordan. Jordan retaliated, slapping Reggie. Miller hit back. Then Jordan punched Miller in the face.
Teammates rushed in to break up the brawling stars. Miller was ejected from the game and fined. After the NBA reviewed footage, Jordan was suspended and fined.
Was it the NBA Fight of the Decade? Perhaps. Rarely do you see two very high-profile players going after each other as Miller and Jordan did that night … way back in 1993.
(By the way, the Bulls won that game, 115-104. Michael dropped 40 that night, while Reggie had 4. The Bulls went on to win the Central Division and, then, the NBA Championship.)
