‘The Green MIle’
Washington rides into Dallas Sunday night on a one game winning streak, a bye week and with a Philadelphia loss, a share of first place in the woeful NFC East that’s up for grabs. Dallas on the other hand, has much to prove after going toe to toe with the NFL’s best Denver Broncos, until serial choke artist Tony Romo handed over yet another Huge Game to the opposition.
Even after two weeks rest for RG3 and time to prepare for the latest Cowboy Clash, fans of the Burgundy and Gold are approaching this game as if they’re walking the green mile to the electric chair. Sure, a share of first place in the Division would be nice at 2-3 but far more is at stake. It is increasingly becoming timely to examine and debate the Cost, Impact and Motive of acquiring RG3.
To be fair, the only team that Washington can shut down is the Federal Government and some argue, that with three touchdowns scored by the Defense, that the “D” is just as likely to score as Wunderkind Whiz Kid and Number One Son, Kyle Shanahan’s Offense in the first half. But “It’s” not about the defense which is derisively referred to as “The Noodles” locally.
“It’s” all about RG3. It always has been all RG3, RG3, RG3 since the very moment he was drafted.
As part of an ongoing series I’ll begin to view the RG3 Phenomenon through the prism of Owner, RG3, Shanahan, Dr. Andrews and most importantly the Fans.
Dr. Andrews, The Preeminent Surgeon to the Stars and permanent fixture on Washington’s sideline, is looking more and more like the ghost of former “Ultimate Owner”, Jack Kent Cooke. The good Doctors skill with a scalpel is unparalleled, it’s his public conduct that seems unwarranted and confused at best and unethical at worst. Who can forget the stumbling, contradictory statements from Andrews when questioned regarding the Seattle Playoff Game Fiasco. How would the Father of Medicine, Hippocrates who is credited with the First Rule of Medicine: “Do No Harm” feel about Andrews running to the sound of Reporters?
Doing harm you ask? Yes. By violating at every opportunity, the Doctor/Patient Confidentiality, that’s how! Not only has that privilege been upheld by the Courts at every level but I saw it all the time on TV Shows and in the Movies so it has to be true right? By constantly commenting on his patience’ health and recovery Andrews continues to muddle an already uncoordinated, messy message out of Ashburn, which fosters duplicity and distrust.
Dr. Andrews; Next time you’re asked about any of your Patient’s, no matter how benign sounding, simply comment, “I don’t discuss my Patients condition”. It’s OK Doctor, we all understand that Doctors are allowed to say nothing and it’s considered a professional responsibility .
No more comment’s Doctor and “Do No Harm”.
