What to do with Bradshaw?

If you’re anything like me, you made the apparent mistake in drafting Indianapolis Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw to be one of your starting running backs for the 2013 fantasy football season.

Was it a mistake looking back? Maybe.

However, you might think there is some good news heading your way in regards to Bradshaw’s status in your lineup as one of his colleagues Vick Ballard suffered a torn ACL Thursday at practice and will miss the remainder of the 2013 season.

What could be a devastating blow to Ballard owners, as he was garnering more of the reps for the offense, could be a blessing in disguise to those who selected Bradshaw correct?

Wrong… at least for now.

The Colts have elected to insert Donald Brown into the starting role, while still giving Bradshaw some touches. As frustrating as it may be, don’t completely right off the seven-year veteran just yet because it’s still only Week 2.

What his stat line from last week tells me — seven carries for 26 yards and one catch for seven yards — is that something still isn’t right with his foot. This injury has lingered with Bradshaw early on in his tenure with the Colts and as a guy who has battled injuries throughout his career with the Giants, it may throw up a red flag to not only fantasy owners, but the Colts as well.

Still, with all of this being sad, Bradshaw possesses a big-play ability similar to one of his teammates wide receiver T.Y. Hilton. Having that threat of a big play or score is enough to garner at least a FLEX spot in your lineup going forward, but probably not much more.
