World Needs to Know Alysa Liu

Do you know American figure skater Alysa Liu? The figure skating world is recognizing her talents. However, the rest of the world should catch on. In 2019, Liu became the youngest figure skater to win the championship. She was thirteen years old. She defended her U.S. title in 2020 with a national scoring record 235.52.

Liu is from Richmond, CA. At the 2019 U.S. Championships, she became the first American woman to land three triple axel jumps. The records continued through the years for her. Liu became the first female skater to win back-to-back titles since 2013. She was also the first U.S. female to land a quadruple lutz jump.

Liu started figure skating at age five and developed a love for the sport. She was the youngest athlete named to the 2022 U.S. Olympic team and finished sixth overall at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Alysa entered the 2025 U.S. Figure Skating Championships and skated very well. Liu went on to earn a silver medal and earned her spot on the 2025 World Championship team. She attends UCLA, and we will hear much more about her in the coming years.
