The game will be played at 3 PM on Sunday, May 4, and telecast on ESPN.
We just had the 2025 WNBA Draft, and UConn’s Paige Buckers was selected as the first overall pick (Dallas Wings). I look forward to her match-up with Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, who, IMHO, is still the face of the WNBA.

Clark brought unparalleled excitement to the league last year, and now we have another reason to get excited. Clark and her Indiana Fever will match up with the Brazilian National Team in WNBA history’s first nationally televised preseason game. But it’s not the league’s first preseason match-up of historic proportions. Last year’s game between the Minnesota Lynx and Chicago Sky earned two million streams, all from fans’ cellphones.
This year’s international contest will be even more exciting because it will be played in Clark’s old stomping grounds, Carver-Hawkeye Arena, on the U. of Iowa campus. And get this: the game sold out in less than an hour!
It will be the first of many Fever games that fans from around the country can watch. Ten of the Fever’s 44 games will be televised on ABC/ESPN, and eight other games will air on ION Television.
Get ready for a great season of WNBA basketball!
