Would Mariah May be a Good Addition to the WWE Roster?

, , ,

Answer? Resounding YES!

With rumors swirling around the wrestling community daily, most rumors are just forgettable. This recent rumor is one people cannot forget, as it has to do with one of the next great women’s wrestlers. Mariah May, who wrestles for AEW (All Elite Wrestling), is rumored to jump ship to WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) when her AEW contract is over. May’s contract will most likely run out later this year in November and possibly longer, per PWInsider. By no means does this mean it’s a done deal on her time in AEW, as she still has time left and hasn’t decided, but it’s fun to discuss what she could do in WWE.

May will be one of the future greats in women’s wrestling. In her time in AEW, she had one of the best storylines in women’s wrestling of all time against “Timeless” Toni Storm. It was your classic Mentor vs Protege story, but they made it better than the rest. With captivating promos and excellent matches, they carried AEW during their feud.

May is a fantastic promo artist not only because of the content of her promos but also because of how she can invoke emotion and feeling from them. She is also exceptional in the ring, and her match at AEW Revolution (March 9, 2025) against Toni Storm was one of her best ones to date.

Unfortunately, since her match against Storm at AEW Revolution, she has not been used on AEW television. It isn’t very pleasant to see her not being used as she should be, which is the future of the women’s roster of AEW. It was a brutal match, so they could’ve written her off the TV to make the match feel even more significant, but it’s been longer than a whole month since we’ve seen her, so it seems like they don’t have a plan for her. It is not known if AEW has any plans for her, but if I were Tony Khan, I would start to get a storyline started while her contract lasts.

May would be another fantastic women’s wrestler added to an already potential-filled roster. What separates her from the rest of the women at WWE is that she is already a more complete wrestler. She can already complete great promos and matches compared to some women’s wrestlers at WWE. Specifically, the NXT Women’s roster is continuing to grow exponentially. The women’s roster at NXT is impressive, but they do not seem as good on the mic as in the ring. While Shawn Michaels is doing fantastically with the new generation of women wrestlers, May would be an addition who doesn’t need as much training. May could immediately go to the main roster and feud against Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Iyo Sky, Bayley, Liv Morgan, and her AEW counterpart Jade Cargill.

Would Mariah May be a good addition to the WWE roster? Yes, she would be a great addition to the WWE roster!

From her promo work to in-ring skills, she has the makings to be an even bigger star in the wrestling world than she is now. The potential storylines for Mariah in WWE add great intrigue to her potential.

While her departure from AEW and jump to WWE are far from being set in stone, if WWE can get her on the roster, they should do everything they can to do it.
