Keanu Reeves, Race Car Driver

,

Actor Keanu Reeves is a jack of all trades. Add race car driver to his resume.

In The Replacements, Keanu plays a quarterback for the fictional Washington Sentinels. Reeves trained with NFL quarterbacks from the NFL to make sure he looked believable as a quarterback. The result was that the Baltimore Ravens invited Reeves for a tryout. Reeves declined and said he wanted to stick to acting.

Reeves recently decided to try another profession in sports, motorsports. He is now a race car driver. Reeves made his professional racing debut at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The actor competed in the Toyota spec-racing series in an Indy 8-Hour sports car event, driving the No. 92 BRZRKR car for his debut while promoting his graphic novel, The Book of Elsewhere. The actor qualified 31st out of 35 cars and did well in the race until Turn 14 at the 45-minute mark. He spun into the grass, but there was no collision. Reeves finished 24th in one race and 25th in another.

It’s not the first time that Reeves had stepped in a race car. Keanu was a former participant in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, a celebrity racing event he won in 2009.
