Thadej Pogacar Claims Third Tour de France Title

Here’s what happened, stage by stage.


2024 was the first time the Tour de France wouldn’t conclude in Paris; it ended in Nice.

The 111th Tour de France Commenced on an excellent note for Romain Bardet of Team DSM Firmenich Post NL as he clinched the First Stage, clocking five hours, seven minutes, and twenty-two seconds to claim Yellow Jersey in the 206 km long track From Florence to Rimini, Italy. Fellow Teammate F Van der Broek exhibited an excellent performance, clocking five hours, seven minutes, and sixteen seconds, and he collected 33 points to win the Green and White Jersey for the first stage. Wout Van Aert finished third, while J Abrahamsen became the first Norwegian cyclist to win the Polka Dot Jersey, awarded to the best climber.

The Second Stage of the Tour de France witnessed a major turnaround in the General Classifications as Thadej Pogacar launched an attack. At the same time, Jonas Vingegaard gave Pogacar a tough fight but couldn’t succeed, as Thadej Pogacar was successful in winning the Yellow Jersey. Kevin Vauquelin (Team Arkea B &B Hotels) laid a solo attack with 14 km to go off the St. Luca Climb, where he claimed victory in the Bologna Stage. At the same time, Jonas Abrahamsen of Team Uno Mobility and Quinton Pacher of Team GFC finished second and third, respectively.

The Third Stage of the Tour de France is 230 km long, from Plaisance to Turin. Biniam Girmay Claimed the Third Stage, while Fernando Gaviria and Arnaud de Lie were second and third, respectively. A late crash involving favorites Thadej Pogacar and J Vingegaard allowed former Giro de Italia winner Ricardo Carparaz to become the first Ecuadorian cyclist to win a Yellow Jersey.

Thadej Pogacar regained the Yellow Jersey in the Fourth Stage of the Tour de France, establishing a 45-second lead over Evenepoel. At the same time, J Vingegaard was third in the General Classifications, 50 seconds behind Thadej Pogacar. Thadej Pogacar took the initiative with 18 km to go. While Rogilic stretched out, J Vingegaard eventually benefited Thadej Pogacar.

The Tour gets even more exciting as the Fifth Stage is 177.4 km from St Jean de Marriene to St. Vulbas Plaine Del’ain. Mark Cavendish ensured his name as the most prolific rider in sprinting history by recording his 35th Stage Victory Of the Tour de France. Jasper Philipsen was second, followed by Alexander Kristoff. T Pogacar retained the Yellow Jersey, while C Russo claimed the Green, Polka, and Combative Rider’s Prize. A De Lie claimed the Young Rider’s White Jersey for the Fifth Stage.

D Groenewegen clocked 3:31:55 to claim the Sixth Stage, while Jasper Philipsen finished second and B Girmay third as B Girmay claimed White Jersey. T Pogacar maintained control over Yellow Jersey at 26 hours, 47 minutes, and 19 seconds, while J Abrahamsen had complete control over Green Dot Jersey. Jasper Philipsen was penalized for blocking Wout Van Aert. As a result, B Girmay finished second, while F Gavaria of the Movistar Team Finished Third. J Philipsen has his hands over the Green Jersey while J Abrahamsen claimed the climber’s Polka Dot Jersey.

R Evenepoel stole the show as he clinched past Slovenian Cyclist T Pogacar and P Rogilic to Claim the Seventh Stage. B. Girmay became the First Eritrean Cyclist to claim the Eight Stage, with J Philipsen and A. De Lie following up. A Turgis Claimed the Ninth Stage, while J Philipsen claimed the Tenth Stage.

T Pogacar leads the Tour at 40:02:15, while J Vingegaard is just one minute and fifteen seconds behind. As far as the Point Classifications are concerned, K Goosens leads the table with 20 points. H Vanhouke and J Philipsen are not so far in the Conquest, with 17 and 15 points, respectively.

With just eleven stages remaining, will there be a major turnaround? Will J Vingegaard Catch up with T Pogacar?

J Vingegaard exhibited a brilliant performance, claiming the Eleventh Stage. At the same time, Slovenian Rider T Pogacar Attacked the pack to continue his hold over Yellow Jersey with a 1’06 lead over Evenepoel, while J Vingegaard is still trailing in the General Classifications with one minute and fifteen seconds. T Pogacar holds the Yellow and Polka dot Jersey and is the Combative Rider for the Eleventh Stage. At the same time, R Evenepoel is the Young Rider, while R Girmay holds the Sprinter’s Green Jersey.

B Girmay continued his winning streak as he claimed the Twelvth Stage, while Wout Van Aert and Ackerman followed for the 2nd and 3rd position, respectively. B Girmay’s stage victory ensured him the Green Jersey, while a crash put Primo Rogilic on thin ice. Mark Cavendish and Demare were relegated, while Thadej Pogacar retained the Yellow Jersey and B Girmay’s third-stage victory, which ensured him the Green Jersey.

Jasper Philipsen performed excellently, ensuring his second-stage victory and the Thirteenth Stage concluded with Thadej Pogacar retaining Yellow Jersey with a lead of 1.06 over Evenepoel. At the same time, J Vingegaard is one minute and fifteen seconds behind T Pogacar.

Will J Vingegaard be able to catch up to the lead? Will he chase successfully?

The Green Jersey remains with B Girmay, while Evenepoel holds the White Jersey. T Pogacar has complete control over the Yellow and Polka Dot Jerseys, while M Cort was the Combative Rider for the thirteenth stage. Thadej Pogacar strengthened his hold over the Yellow Jersey as he clocked four hours, one minute, and fifty-one Seconds to claim the Fourteenth Stage. As a result, he is thirty-nine seconds ahead of Jason Vingegaard and one minute and ten seconds ahead of Evenepoel. This stage victory ensures Thadej Pogacar the Yellow and Polka Dot Jerseys, while B Girmay and Evenepoel continue their hold over the Green and White Jerseys, respectively.

B Healy was the most Combative Rider for the Fourteenth Stage. Thadej Pogacar continued his dream run in the Tour de France, claiming his successive stage victory and clinching his Fifteenth Stage, which gave him a 3’09 Advantage in the General Classifications as he kept his hold over the Yellow and Polka Dot Jerseys, respectively. R Carapaz was the Most Combative Rider for the Fifteenth Stage.

With Six Stages to conclude, will J Vingegaard make a comeback? Will the Tour witness a turnaround?

J Philipsen clinched the Sixteenth Stage in Ninnes as he raced past P Baumhus and Alexander Kristoff. There were no changes in the General Classifications. B Girmay was able to retain The Green Jersey despite the clash. Thadej Pogacar won Yellow Jersey for the Thirty-Fifth time in his career, which was his hundredth day of the Tour de France race. Gachignard’s impressive solo performance earned him the Combative Rider for the Sixteenth Stage. Richard Carapaz ensured his first stage victory by going past Simon Yates and Eric Mas.

The General Classifications didn’t change, as Thadej Pogacar still dominates the Yellow Jersey, with J Vingegaard three minutes and twelve seconds behind.
Gregoire Was the Combative Rider for the Seventeenth Stage.

V Campenaerts won the Eighteenth Stage, while M Vercher and M Kwiatkowski placed second and third, respectively. T Pogacar strengthened his hold over the Yellow Jersey while Gregoire was the Combative Rider. Thadej Pogacar ensured stage Vvctory for the Nineteenth Stage, strengthening his hold over the Yellow Jersey as it was the icing over the cake as M Jorgensen and S Yates followed. R Carapaz was the Combative Rider.

At the same time, J Vingegaard was one minute and forty-two seconds behind White Jersey holder R Evenepoel. Thadej Pogacar continued his winning streak as he won the Twentieth Stage and his fifth overall this year. At the same time, R. Carapaz retained his Polka dot Jersey, and R. Evenepoel continued to lead the Young Rider’s White Jersey. E Mas was the Combative Rider for the Twentieth Stage.

Thadej Pogacar wrapped up the Tour de France and retained the Yellow Jersey, beating J Vingegaard by one minute and six seconds, while Evenepoel was third in the General Classifications. Pogacar joined the elite club of double winners by claiming the Giro de Italia and Tour de France in the same year. B Girmay Won the Green jersey as he became the First Entitrean Rider to achieve the feat.
