Elias “No Time” Erber (19-4 MMA) is the first Austrian fighter in nearly a decade to win the IMMAF World Championship.
Europe has produced some of the biggest stars in the MMA and boxing world. Tommy Fury, Conor McGregor, and Andrew Tate, among others, have all had successful careers as European boxers. Now there is IMMAF champion Elias “No Time” Erber of Austria. With a 19-4 MMA record, Erber is the first Austrian fighter in nearly a decade to win the IMMAF World Championship.
I sat down with Erber to discuss his career, Jake Paul, and the future of boxing.
McElwain: What’s your advice to anyone hoping to join the boxing world?
Erber: Just do it. Don’t overthink it too much. Go to your nearest gym and try it out. Then, go from there.
McElwain: Describe boxing in one word.
Erber: I have two: Chess match.
McElwain: What are your goals for your career?
Erber: To become the best version of myself.
McElwain: How does it feel to be the IMMAF champion?
Erber: It was an unbelievable moment, winning the world championships. But being the first from Austria in nine years makes it even better.
McElwain: What’s your opinion on Jake Paul?
Erber: Whether you like him or not, he has brought much-needed attention to boxing. Many young kids started boxing thanks to him, so I think what he’s doing is a good thing.
McElwain: Where do you see yourself in thirty years?
Erber: I will be happily retired, looking back on a very successful career.
McElwain: Who are your dream opponents?
Erber: I don’t focus much on my opponents. I like to focus more on myself, so I don’t care who I’m facing.
McElwain: Finally, where do you see boxing in thirty years?
Erber: Hopefully, it will be bigger and more well-known than it is now.
