Brotherhood on the Field

,

Why sports? Here’s one answer.

Racism is a hot topic today. We are seeing more people get violent over race, religion, or just as simple as someone doesn’t agree with me; therefore, that person is a racist. The simple saying is one nation, but how many people really go by that?

The one area where people come together and put away their beliefs is sports. Do you know why it’s so great to be an athlete? It’s because you form an unbreakable bond with your teammates… a brotherhood or sisterhood.

On the field, it doesn’t matter what your skin color is. You have individual goals and the common goal of working together to accomplish a championship. The bond is strong and will last your whole life. How many people can say that? If you have trouble in your personal life, who are you going to call?

Most likely, it will be the one who has felt pain with you and glory. A brotherhood is formed in sports, no matter what skin color, that will last a lifetime.
