The Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) has a for-profit counterpart, Winners Alliance, dedicated to assisting players capitalize on commercial pursuits.
Winners Alliance is a “global, athlete-first group licensing solution dedicated to unleashing the collective power of athletes so they can win on and off the court. Founded in 2022, Winners Alliance is modernizing the sports marketing industry by creating scalable, athlete-first commercial opportunities that empower world-class athletes to achieve their world-class value.”
International in scope, board leaders include former #1 tour player Kim Clijsters (Belgium), doubles player Sania Mirza (India), and singles competitor Marcos Baghdatis (Cyprus), and they are fully on board with the task ahead.
Kim Clijsters: “I am eager to help organize players and participate in this ambitious and worthwhile mission.
Clijsters board partner Sania Mirza was the first Indian woman to win a WTA title (2005), achieve #1 doubles rankings, and win six Grand Slams. Mizra chimed in with similar sentiments about the PTPA/Winners Alliance partnerships, saying, “The need for independent, collective player representation has never been greater. I look forward to helping the PTPA organize players and establish collective power with stakeholders.”
