Kudos to South Fulton’s (GA) Division of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs, the U.S. Tennis Association, and the South Fulton Tennis Center!
Established in 1977, the South Fulton Tennis Center has a rich history, including hosting professional exhibitions in the 1980s and 1990s. The center also served as the training facility for renowned touring professionals Taylor Townsend, Chris Eubanks, and Donald Young.
So this year’s event fits tradition. Darren Potkey, USTA Georgia’s Executive Director, helped spread the word, and Bill Dopp, USTA’s Director of Tennis Service Representatives & Pro Relations, led the training session.
Attendees included fifteen coaches from the Metropolitan Atlanta area, high school students, community residents, tennis players, and other tennis enthusiasts.
Those attending learned best practices about teaching beginner youth and adult players, and how to organize, structure, and offer training sessions.
