Allie Stevens is a 9-year-old golfer and a really good one, too. How good? National-level good.
The Austin, TX native developed a passion for the game, and a great day for Allie is when she gets to play a round. She got started in the game during the COVID pandemic when she couldn’t play team sports. Then, one day, her parents recommended that she try golf. It wasn’t a stretch because her dad played at the pro level, and her mom was a collegiate golfer.
They bought Allie a set of clubs, and she began practicing. But, it was more than for fun and recreation when her mom and dad realized Allie had a lot of talent. So, she began competing in youth tournaments and turned heads as she did. Her big break came when she made it through competitions to qualify for the 2023 Drive, Chip, and Putt National Finals at Augusta National.
One of only ten players in her age bracket to make it to Augusta, Allie represented Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansaw in the competition. Allie and the other competitors got a bonus, too, observing a practice round at the Masters.
I’m sure you’ll be hearing more from Allie Stevens. Remember her name.
