I don’t care how much NFL players make. But I do hope the NFL will make changes to the game–for the players’ sake.
As a filmmaker, writer, and actress, I like to critique films on my TV show, Hollywood to Houston, with Sandra Del Cid. But I’ve not yet spoken about the wonderful film Concussion by Will Smith. A true story inspired the film. Dr. Bennet Omalu, a forensic pathologist, discovered that repeated blow to the head produces the brain disease Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), which results in memory loss, depression, and suicidal thoughts.
I am surprised that it took this long for someone to speak out. Blows in the head produce brain damage. It’s not rocket science.
Here’s what I think. Parents should not allow their children to play football. Basketball, baseball, soccer, swimming, and many other sports are better options for humanity.
I hope the NFL considers making changes to the game.
