Deion Sanders isn’t taking chances as his team prepares to travel to Houston to play Texas Southern on Saturday.
Migos rapper Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday. He was 28 years old. He was known being the mastermind of his group, Migos, with hits like Bad and Boujee and Motorsport. Migos have had a significant impact on rap music.
JSU’s head coach, Deion Sanders, noted Takeoff’s death and will take extra security measures as his team gets ready to play Texas Southern University this weekend. Sanders announced during a team meeting yesterday, and his thoughts were also posted on his Twitter account.
Deion Sanders: I don’t want you all playing that foolish game because you are valuable to your families, friends, and loved ones, and you are valuable to us.”
I applaud Sanders for taking accountability for his team and protecting them.

POSTSCRIPT: 2022 has been an awful year for young rappers and athletes. We have lost rappers, such as JayDaYougan and PnB Rock, and athletes, such as high school football champion Richard Reed. I dedicate this article to Takeoff and his uncle, Quavo, a fellow Migos member, who witnessed Takeoff’s death. If that isn’t a wake-up call to help end violence, then I don’t know what is.
