Houston Astros’ shortstop Jeremy Peña is a history-maker.
What an ALCS he had! Peña, a rookie, went 6 of 17 in the series with two doubles, two home runs, four RBIs, and three runs scored. In series-clinching Game 4, Pena hit a three-run bomb in the third to tie the game.
Named the series’ Most Valuable Player, Peña became the fifth rookie to be an MVP, and he is the only first-year shortstop to earn championship-level MVP honors.
The Astros’ will need Peña and all-hands-on-deck to beat the surging Phillies and win another World Series crown. Philadelphia won Friday night’s opener, storming back from a 5-0 deficit to win in extra innings. Game 2 is on tap in Houston at 8p on FOX.
