An unexpected run puts the Aggies in the 2022 College World Series.
Texas A&M was the #5-seed when it entered the regionals, but the Aggies advanced to the Super-Regional and, then, onto Omaha for the 2022 College World Series. Along with Ole’ Miss, they are the only teams to go through regional and super-regional play undefeated.
A&M started the tournament against Oral Roberts and won 8-2. Louisiana came next, and TAM emerged victorious 9-6. The Aggies were up against Texas Christian in the next round and beat the Horned Frogs 15-9. That set up a match-up to see who would go to the CWS. Louisville was the opponent, and the Aggies prevailed in a two-game set, 5-4 and 4-3.
“The Road to Omaha” is complete, and now the issue is how far A&M can go–a surprising question given that this was supposed to be a rebuilding year. The Aggies have already claimed their 10th regional crown and earned a seventh trip to the College World Series.
Texas A&M will play the Oklahoma Sooners in the first round on Friday. You can watch the game live at 2p Eastern on ESPN.
