Prediction: The Team in Blue Will Win March Madness

, , , , ,

Duke, Villanova, North Carolina, and Kansas have one thing in common: they share a school color (blue). And, oh, they share something else, too–a ton of national championships, 21 in total.

Duke and North Carolina will face off in the Final Four today in New Orleans, along with Kansas and Villanova. The Blue Devils and UNC are located only a few miles apart and play in the same conference, the ACC). But this is the first time they’ve faced each other in March Madness. It is Mike Krzyzewski’s final tournament, and tonight could be his final tournament game.

Coach K has won five national titles at Duke, and the big question is whether he can go out in style, winning his sixth. UNC has six championships of its own, and the Tar Heels are dead set on making it seven. That said, UNC has the most losses of any of the Final Four teams with nine contests in the loss column with one game lost to Duke. But also know UNC beat Duke at Duke in the regular-season finale

In the other game today. Villanova is making its fourth Final Four appearance since 2009. The school has won two of those times–three all-time–and the goal is to make it four. But KU stands in the way with aspirations of its own–winners of five national championships, looking for its sixth.

Kansas has won more games than any of the other finalists, 32, and the Jayhawks play in a conference (Big 12) that NCAA NET ranks as the nation’s #1 league.

What do I predict? I’m going with Duke and Kansas to play in Monday night’s national championship game.
