A month ago, few analysts and fans picked Cincy to advance to the AFC Championship Game. Yet, here they are facing the juggernaut Chiefs, a team they beat in Week 17. What will happen this time?
Ja’Marr Chase provided a good share of Joe Burrow’s passing yards when the Bengals met the KC Chiefs in that Week 17 game. Chase accounted for nearly 60% of Burrow’s 446 total yards that day (266 yards, to be specific), and that performance broke the record for receiving yardage by a rookie (255 yards) set by Buffalo’s Jerry Butler in 1979. He caught three TD passes, too.
The problem for KC is that Chase isn’t the Chiefs’ only wide receiver worry. Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins round out what may be the best WR trio in the NFL today. And that’s just one reason why the current -7 KC point spread might be a bit generous–even though the ESPN Match-Up Predictor gives KC a 70% chance of winning.
How might the game turn out? The Bengals will jump out to a big lead, silencing the Chiefs’ Tomahawk Chop. Kansas City will need to score a touchdown in the final moments of the fourth quarter to win.
