KC fans are breathing easier. Pats fans are congratulating Jakobi Meyers. And what’s up with TB and TB?
Are the Chiefs Back? A dominating win over the Raiders on Sunday Night Football has fans outside of Kansas City sweating. The Chiefs have been struggling all year, and it felt like it was only a matter of time before they got back to their old ways. The high-powered offense put up 41 points Sunday in Prime Time, and Chiefs’ fans are already talking Super Bowl. Still, folks, it’s just one game.
The Race for the First Pick is On. With the Lions almost winning, it got me thinking about the race for the first overall pick. The Lions have it right now, but there are contenders galore. Next would be the Texans, then the Jets and Jags. After that, there are Philly (from Miami), Giants, Jets (from Seattle), Giants (from Chicago), Washington, and Miami (from 49ers). That would leave the Jets with #3 and #7 and the Giants with #6 and #8.
Division standings update, Week 10. Five of the eight divisions are currently separated by one game or less. That group includes the Bucs over Saints, Cardinals over Rams, Chiefs over Chargers, Ravens over everyone else, and Bills over Pats. The other three aren’t so close. Dallas has 3.5 games over the Eagles, while the Packers have 3.5 games over the Vikings, and the Titans have three games up over the Colts.
For Long-awaited Returns to the End Zone…. Cam Newton made his return to Carolina. And while he didn’t start, he certainly had an impact on the game. He was 3 of 4 passing for 8 yards and a TD, and he added three carries for 14 yards and a TD. As Cam put it, “I’m Baaaacccccckkkkkkkk!” Then, in New England, Jakobi Meyers made his return to the end zone. In his third season in the NFL, Meyers had the most receptions and yards by a receiver in NFL history without scoring a touchdown…until Sunday.
Week 10 Team Power Rankings
Patriots. A blowout win over the Browns in Week 10 kept the Pats a half-game behind the Bills. Mac Jones looked great, and the Browns’ offense struggled. Buffalo fans have reason to be worried.
Washington. Against Tampa Bay, Washington got the job done without having Chase Young on the field for most of the game. WFT’s defense picked off Brady twice. Surprise. Heineke outplayed the GOAT. Surprise.
Chiefs. The Chiefs got back on track with a Sunday night win over Vegas. Mahomes did whatever he wanted all night long, and Vegas didn’t have an answer. Let’s see if KC can sustain that high-powered offense that went AWAL for weeks.
Lions. The Lions might not have won, but they didn’t lose. That counts as a victory in my book. Pittsburgh may not have had Big Ben, but I am not going to hold that against Detroit. The Lions’ defense forced three turnovers, and 16 points were enough to get the job done. Well done, Detroit!
Mount Rushmore Performances
Patrick Mahomes, 406 yards, 5 TDs. Mahomes threw the ball all over the field on Sunday, dominating Vegas. With season highs in most yards and TDs, there’s hope in the Midlands.
Stefon Diggs, eight catches, 162 yards, one TD. Diggs caught 8 of his 13 targets on Sunday and helped the Bills secure a win over the Jets.
Rhamondre Stevenson, 100 yards, two TDs. Stevenson, a fourth-round rookie running back, took the lead role for the Patriots with Harris out. How’d he do? He had the best game of his career against a Browns team that has a decent run defense.
Jonathan Taylor, 21 rushes, eight catches, 126 total yards, one TD. While this game isn’t necessarily an amazing performance, Taylor has been incredibly consistent. He is averaging over 91 yards per game, scoring nine touchdowns in his last seven games.
