Saturday’s tournament attracted 180 participants.
The event–The Global Indian International School Virtual Open Chess Tournament, 2021–was limited to Singapore school students and was conducted in GO CHECKMATE’s integrated Platform. Time control for the players was 15 mins + 5-second increments. The tournament was played across five age categories and one parent category. All categories had five rounds of play. Trophies were awarded to the top three players in each category, and the next seven players were awarded medals.
Go Checkmate student Haresh Venkata Narayanaswamy emerged as Champion, Under 09. Go Checkmate! also congratulates, Dhanesh (2nd place, Under 14), Vinesh (3rd place, Under 12), Kavin Kumar (4th place, Under 10), Nivaan Khandhadia (4th place, Under 09), and Sattvik Pranaav (9th Place. Under 10) for their exemplary performance.
Mr. Praveen Kumar (FI), Director, Go Checkmate, and Mrs. Vidhyavarshni (NI), who organized the event, congratulated all winners and expressed thanks to the GIIS School for the opportunity to conduct the tournament.
