The tournament was conducted last weekend by the All-India Chess Federation.
Mithun Pranav qualified for the tournament by winning the Tamil Nadu State Championship and represented the state in the national tournament. Over four hundred Under-08 players participated in the tournament that was conducted using a time control of 15 min + 5 seconds increment.
Pranav clinched second by scoring 9.5 points out of 11 rounds in the event.
He will now represent India in the Western Asia Youth Online Chess Championship, a tournament that will be held this weekend, conducted by the Srilankan Chess Federation.
