He’s Shohei Ohtani–baseball’s pitching-hitting phenom.
The 27-year old Ohtani is the first two-way player in over a hundred years. And he’s not just a two-way player; he’s an outstanding double threat.
Consider these stats. Ohtani, MLB’s home run leader, has clobbered 33 HRs in 84 games. He’s not just a power hitter, either. Testimony is his .279 batting average and 70 RBIs. And the Angels also have the benefit of Ohtani’s stellar mound performances. He has a 4-1 record and a 3.49 ERA with 87 strikeouts in 13 starts over 67 total innings.
Fans saw Tuesday night at the annual All-Star game what MLB players and managers have experienced all season. Ohtani “Sho-cased” his skills by tossing a perfect inning for the AL Stars. Ohtani also competed in Monday’s Home Run Derby, hitting 28 dingers, including a 513-foot missile.
Shohei Ohtani is simply incredible!
Ohtani’s unique abilities make him a must-see attraction in today’s game, and he has the potential to inspire a generation of athletes, just like Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Willie Mays, and others have done for previous generations.
And make no mistake about it: this “Sho” is just getting started!
