Irishman Conor McGregor is now coming face-to-face with the possibility that he will be succeeded by another Irishman, Ian Garry.
Undefeated Ian Garry (7-0), the current Cage Warriors welterweight champion, signed recently with the UFC. The 23-year-old Garry, who has superstar potential, has followed a path similar to MMA icon Conor McGregor. McGregor was a two-weight world champion with the Cage Warriors promotion before rising to UFC glory.
Garry’s most impressive finish came by way of a phenomenal walk-off head kick KO over UFC vet Rostem Akman.

“UFC, I’m coming!” said Garry after the victory. “I’m hungry. I want to go in there and prove how good I am,” he asserted.
While it’s no wonder that UFC was eager to sign him, Garry must learn from McGregor if he wants to rise to that level. That includes how McGregor managed his career and extends into avoiding his mistakes. There’s no doubt that McGregor can be his own worst enemy.
The first step is Garry’s next step, including who he will fight, when, and where. His is a career to watch and follow.
