Las Vegas stands in way of sixth consecutive win.
The WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx didn’t start the season on the prowl, losing four of its first six games. That was then. Tonight in Las Vegas, the Lynx have an opportunity to win their sixth game in a row.
Credit Kayla McBride, Sylvia Fowles, and Layshia Clarendon, among others. for the turnaround. All three players register in the WNBA’s top five in stat categories that matter most–points (McBride is tied for 4th at 25 ppg), rebounds (Fowles is tied for 3rd with 11 rpg), and assists (Clarendon is ranked 1st with 8 apg).
But Las Vegas has top-ranked players of its own, including the phenomenal A’ja Wilson, who is a triple-threat player. She equals McBride’s 25 ppg, is tied for 1st in rebounds per game (12), and is tied for 4th in assists per game (6). Wilson is also tied for 4th in the number of free throws made. And she’s not alone. Other Aces ranking among the WBA’s best include Dearica Hamby (in rebounds and steals) and Chelsey Gray (in assists and three-pointers made).
Those stats say that tonight’s game will be an uber-competitive affair. Tip time is 10:30p Eastern at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.
