999 Racing, Part Three: Goodbye and Good Riddance (An Original Script, Scene Five, Finale)

, ,

The final scene of this part of 999 Racing opens with Jarad, Jason Firestone, Dark Wrld, Starfire, Andre, and Patrick heading onto the football field at Nostradamus University. Nostradamus, Kronos, Cesar, and Charles notice them as All Girls Are The Same by Juice Wrld plays in the background.

Nostradamus: So Football Boy is back, huh?

Patrick: Listen up! If we treated each other with kindness, maybe the world, let alone college sports, could be an awesome place to be! People like Nostradamus and Kronos are the problem! They make the world into a Jenga tower and they pull all the pieces at once!

Nostradamus: Anyone care to object to Football Boy’s statement? {Everyone shakes their head. Nostradamus sees Andre.} As for you, Andre, you are a disgrace to this family! Who fed you?! Me! Who housed you?! Me! Who sat at your bedside when you were sick?! Me! Who went to every football game that you and your brothers had?! Me!

Jarad: Leave him alone.

Nostradamus: Oh really? And you’re a better Dad? Tell me: Does a good dad put his kids in danger before they are even born by going to the Demon Wrld Universe? Or how about that time you let Star go to a superlatives ceremony while your wife was having a lethal allergic reaction to onions? Your arrest for being an accomplice to her theft and vandalism was surely a highlight of your bad parenting. Plus, didn’t you shame her about her choice of school? I think you don’t deserve that Best Dad Ever Mug, Jerry. So…

{Jarad, full of rage, punches Nostradamus in the face as Scared of Love by Juice Wrld plays in the background.}

Jarad: OK, bud. Let me get a few things straight: First of all, my name is not Jerry. Secondly, your literature ruined my summer in high school. So why don’t you take that prediction book of yours and shove it up your butt?! Third, I know that I wasn’t a good parent at some point. In fact, I was a failure. But now I’m a parent with a lot of regrets. But the last thing I need is a jerk like you to rub it in! We have a lot in common, you and me. We both failed as parents and we want the best for our kids. We can’t take back our past and we want to have a good future for these guys. But unlike you, I would never lay a hand on Starfire!

Jason: {Holding a pot of boiling water.} Let’s finish this!

Nostradamus: {Nervous.} Boiling water? On a football field? Pulled out of your pockets? How is that possible?!

Dark Wrld: Beats me. Now, Jason!

{Jason throws the pot of boiling water on Nostradamus as I’m Still by Juice Wrld plays in the background. Nostradamus is disintegrating out of existence.}

Nostradamus: YOU PLANNED THIS, FOOTBALL BOY!!!! CLEARLY, YOU MUST HAVE!

Patrick: No. Not really. This was just Jason’s philosophy knowledge.

Nostradamus: {Almost faded away.} Fair enough.

{Nostradamus fades away as End of The Road by Juice Wrld plays in the background. Kronos backs away slowly as Starfire looks in awe.}

Starfire: You know all that bad stuff I said about online school? I take it all back.

Jarad: Look, Star. If you want to do in-person college, I’ll support you. In fact, {He pulls out another college acceptance letter.} You got into Texas A&M on a baseball scholarship.

Starfire: Wow! Awesome!

{The next day, everyone has come to say goodbye to Starfire, as she prepares to leave for college. Used To by Juice Wrld plays in the background as Jarad hugs Starfire.}

Jarad: Have you got a lunch for the plane?

Starfire: Yes, Dad.

Jarad: And a sweater, in case it gets cold? I assume you also have cash.

Starfire: For the millionth time, yes. {She gives her Dad one last big bear hug.} I’ll miss you, Dad.

Jason: Hey, kid. Have fun at college. Not too much fun, though.

Starfire: {Laughing.} OK, Jason.

Patrick: I’ll see you at Christmas. It’s Super Bowl training day that day, you know.

Starfire: I got it, Uncle Pat.

Dark Wrld: See you later, Star. Tell that Andre that he should shave his face, though. It looks like a squirrel got ran over on it.

Andre: I heard that!

{Everyone is laughing and waving goodbye as the plane leaves. Jarad, with tears in his eyes,

looks back one more time as the plane makes its descent into Texas.}

Dark Wrld: Jarad, you coming? It’s Indianapolis 500 day. We’ve got to start driving if we’re ever gonna get to the city in time.

Jarad: Yeah. Just give me a second. {Dark Wrld leaves as Jarad looks into the distance.} Goodbye, Star.

{Can’t Leave You Alone by Maroon 5 and Juice Wrld plays in the background as the credits roll.

End of script. RIP, Juice Wrld.}
