Let Transgender Athletes Compete!

,

I want to live in a world where we accept people for who they are, not what we want them to be.

Should transgender athletes play sports based on their gender at birth? Should they be allowed to play different sports? What sports would be inappropriate?
It’s a conversation we shouldn’t have. Why?

No one should be ashamed of being who they are. It’s about being who you are. If a man wants to be a girl, why not? If a girl wants to be a man, why not? This is who they are. People should accept all people for who they are. No one should feel bad about themselves for being who they are.

Transgender athletes have been playing sports for a long time. Remember Renee Richards? She was a transgender tennis player. The Tennis Association required genetic screening for all of its female tennis players, and Richards fought long and hard to change that policy.

I want my four siblings to live in a world where we accept all people for who they are. Let trans people play!
