Open Letter to the NFL

,

It’s time to follow the NBA’s lead. Create a WNFL.

To the NFL,

Last year was the toughest year yet. But perhaps quarantining ourselves was a blessing in disguise. It gave many of us time to think. Important questions were: “What do we want to be as people? “How can I have an impact on the world?”

When I thought about those questions, it made me think about woman’s rights.

We have welcomed, and with open arms, Kamala Harris, the first female, and person-of-color who’ll serve as vice-president of the United States. It’s a great moment! But there’s still loads of work to be done for woman’s rights. We, the people, need to live up to the mantra, “All people are created equal.” For that to happen, we need to continue fighting for women’s rights.

Personally, I want to be able to look into my two baby sisters’ eyes and see confidence. They can be anything they want to be.

It starts with everyone pitching in to fight for woman’s rights.

Create a new league, the WNFL. Give women an opportunity to play.

You might think that this idea is horrible and that girls can’t play football. But you’re mistaken. The college football divisions have been doing a better job, including women on the field. The NFL needs to step it up for woman’s rights. No way around it.

The WNFL would be a great opportunity for woman’s rights in sports. It’ll give females hope, which is important for a big brother to two sisters like me.

Thank you,
