While the NBA makes headlines when its stars shine, the best teams are known for teamwork.
I remember watching highlights of the 2019-2020 LA Clippers, and all I could think about is how Kawhi Leonard’s San Antonio Spurs style of playing is long gone. I also remember going back to the 2014 Spurs–what I view as a ‘beautiful game’ team–and seeing their unselfish approach to an individual-centered league.
In my opinion, some of the greatest teams of all time got there by passing and teamwork–a recipe for success.
But Kawhi’s approach has changed now that most of the main role players are gone from the current Clippers’ team. He no longer makes multiple passes in a play. The bottom line is that Kawhi is the main star.
No longer is he surrounded by Hall of Famers, like Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu, as he was during his Spurs days.
The Clippers aren’t even a conference-final level club. Clippers’ fans: look for a repeat of last year’s season.
