Duke women made the right choice.

Duke Women’s basketball team has decided to end its season because of COVID-19. In a statement, Duke’s VP of Public Affairs said: “The student-athletes on the Duke women’s basketball team have made the difficult decision to conclude their current season due to safety concerns. We support their decision, as we have supported the choices made by all student-athletes at Duke during this unprecedented time.”

This isn’t the first time the pandemic has rattled college basketball. Earlier this year, the vaunted “March Madness” tournament was canceled because of the disease.

In my opinion, Duke’s women’s team made a good move. Other teams should follow Duke’s lead. An even better move would be to end all college sports until the pandemic is over.

Until things get back to normal, we all need to wear a mask and social distance. It’s not hard, and it works.
