One hundred players participated in Sunday’s chess challenge.
On Sunday, Singapore celebrated its 55th National Day and commemorated the day Chess School “GO CHECKMATE” organised the GCCA-SG National Day Chess Challenge Tournament.
The event was conducted free for all players, limited to 100 players who registered within hours after opening. Players participated from the USA, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Dubai.
The tournament was conducted in GO CHECKMATE’s integrated Platform with time control for the players was 15 mins + 5 seconds increment. Players were split into three age groups–Under 08, Under 12, and Under 16. In each category, the top five players received trophies, and the next three finishers received medals.
Complimentary medals were given to three players in the Under 6 group and Under 10 group. E-participation certificates were award to all participants.
A live game link was shared with parents so they could follow the play.
Winners were Mithun Pranav in Under 08, Iniyan RS in Under 12, and R. Yashwant in Under 16 category. Mr. Praveen Kumar (FI) organised the event.
