Independence Day. We celebrate the founding of the nation as contestants gather for the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Is it a sport? Sure! Contestants train and then compete.
This year, Nathan’s competition will be an indoor affair with social distancing guidelines in place. But the big question is still the same: Will Joey Chestnut win his 12th championship belt?
To prepare for the big contest, let’s get pumped up with music.
The Woo, Pop Smoke, Roddy Ricch, and 50 Cent: This song has reggaeton-style energy. Coming off the posthumous Shoot for The Stars, Ain for The Moon album, this tune is perfect for the competition.
Hall of Fame, The Script and will.i.am: Think ‘Joey Chestnut.’
Yaya, Tekashi 6ix9ine: This Spanish song, which is a ripoff of an Ozuna song, is good for the hotdog competition.
Jugg Walkin, Silent Pressure: Even though Silent Pressure isn’t with us anymore, this song is perfect for the hotdog competition.
Dead Locs, Nicco Bandz: Nicco never got the chance to reach his potential. Drugs.
Bodybag, Lil Lotus: This rising artist is making a name for himself, and this song has deep lyrics with an upbeat tempo–perfect for downing dogs.
Emotionally Scarred, Lil Baby: Baby’s My Turn album is a huge hit.
On The Road, Post Malone, Meek Mill, and Lil Baby: This song, from Hollywood’s Bleeding. fits sports perfectly.
I’m on an extended hiatus until 2022. I’m working on a top secret project for this site. I will continue to write on here. See ya in 2022.
