Players from Singapore, India, and Dubai participated.
Saturday’s tournament was hosted by International Master (IM) C Praveen Kumar with a highest rating of 2421. Kumar was champion of the 14th National Cities Team (2013), runner-up in the 15th Adyar Times Open (2015), and winner of the 2nd RCPA Chess Tournament (2019).
From more than 100 entries, 27 rated and unrated participants were given an opportunity to play simultaneously with International Master Kumar. Apart from the top seven players, the other participants were new to the Simultaneous exhibition format.
Participants included Mithun Pranav, India’s Youngest Rapid-rated player; Haresh, Singapore’s Youngest Rated Player; Vivaan G Jain, who drew against GM RR Laxman; Singapore Kickoff 2020 Champion, Dhanesh; and Vinesh, the Eastern Asia Youth Blitz Team Chess Championship’s 2019 Bronze winner.
The tournament was conducted in the LiChess Platform. Time control for the players was 20 mins + 10 seconds increment, and for the host, it was 110 min + 10 seconds increment.
After the event, Kumar (FI) and Mr. Gunasekaran, who organised the event, congratulated all players for their exemplary performance against the International Master.
