‘Go Checkmate’ Announces Video Competition for Youth Chess Players

Show off your videography skills in this competition for youth chess players.


Chess School GO CHECKMATE is conducting a film competition, “Go Shoot Chess.” The three top finishers will receive trophies and e-certificates. The competition will be judged by highly visual communication teachers.

The competition is open to children 5-15 years. Fifty entries have been received to date from applicants around the world, including from India, Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, U.S., Australia, and New Zealand.

Terms and Conditions

Theme: Explain Chess Basics or Tactics (e.g., Castling, En passant, Double Attack, Pin, Discover Attack, Mate in One, etc.)
Length: 1–2 minutes (no longer than 2 minutes)
Sound: Must be greater than 129 bit
Format: MPEG4, MOV, AVI, or WMV
Language: English only

Note: The video should have the participant’s face clearly visible in at least one frame.

22 June: Registration Closes
30 June: Send your drawings
10 July: Winners announced

Popular Choice Award

All submitted entries qualify to win the Popular Choice award. The organizers will upload all videos to YouTube. The video with the largest number of likes (by July 20) will be declared the winner.
