Crawford’s baseball career tarnished with arrest.
Former MLB baseball star Carl Crawford was arrested last week for domestic assault and could face ten years in jail for the offense. It’s the second time recently that Crawford made headlines. In May, a woman and a 5-year-old boy died in a pool located at Crawford’s Houston home.
In the most recent incident. Crawford’s ex-girlfriend (and the mother of his child) alleges that he pulled out a gun, pointed it at her, and then assaulted her physically. Then, Crawford continued harassing her with texts.
During his MLB career, Crawford was an All-Star and won Silver Slugger and Golden Glove awards. Following retirement, Crawford went into the music industry, launching the career of rapper Meghan Thee Stallion.
Domestic assault and all violence against women has been–and continues to be–a significant problem. Tough action is necessary.
