Players from Singapore, India, and Dubai participated in a tournament hosted by International Master Siddarth Ravichandran. Congratulations to Sooriya B.Y and Tamizhselvan Ganesan for exemplary performance against the International Master.
From more than 65 entries to the tournament, 20 participants were selected (a mix of rated and unrated players) and given an opportunity to play simultaneously with IM Siddarth.
Singapore virtual chess tournament
Host Master Siddarth has the highest FIDE rating of 2463, and he also holds 1 GM Norm, is the joint winner of the World Open U 2400 held at Philadelphia, and the New York State Chess Championships in 2009.
The tournament was conducted on Saturday using the LiChess Platform. Time control for the players was 30 mins + a 10 seconds increment. For the host, it was 90 min + 10 seconds increment.
The players were introduced to IM Siddarth via Zoom 15 minutes before the tournament. They were also briefed on the tournament rules.
The tournament concluded with 18 wins-2 losses for IM Siddarth. Mr. Praveen Kumar and Mr.Gunasekaran, who organised the event congratulated Sooriya B.Y and Tamizhselvan Ganesan for their exemplary performance against the International Master.
