Tom Brady In Tampa: What Should We Expect?

An already solid offense got better with Brady and Gronk.

In 2000, Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round at pick #199. His draft report read: “(Brady) lacks mobility and ability to avoid the rush. Lacks a really strong arm. Cannot drive the ball downfield. Does not throw a really tight spiral. Gets knocked down easily.” (NFL.com)

But Brady knew he could be a winning NFL QB. When he met Robert Kraft, the Patriots’ owner, he said: “‘Hi, I’m Tom Brady, and I’m the best decision this organization has ever made.’”

Through 20 seasons, Brady has proven that assertion to be true. Now Brady will move to the next chapter of his career. He signed a two-year $25 million guaranteed contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady and head coach Bruce Arians are winners. And together with Mike Evens, Chris Godwin, and the newly added Rob Gronkowski, this team has a bright future. Last year, Bruce Arians oversaw a Bucs’ crew that was third-best offensively in the league. In 2020, with a new quarterback and one of the best tight ends in the league, the potential is there for the Bucs to do even more.

Chris Godwin, an explosive wide receiver, had a 77.1% catch percentage with nine touchdowns and 1333 yards. The Bucs also have WR Mike Evens. Evens averaged 17.3 yards per reception, gained 1157 yards, and scored eight touchdowns. And to put the icing on the cake, Brady will rejoin his favorite tight end, Rob Gronkowski.

I think the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not only have an explosive offense, and I also believe this team has playoff potential.

Could Brady and these Bucs make history? They could if they go all the way. They’d be the first team in NFL history to host and win a Super Bowl.

Time will tell, of course. But in the meantime, one thing is a sure bet: the nation’s eyes will be on TB in TB.
